A Quiet Getaway in the Samoan Islands

Posted on 02.25.19

A Quiet Getaway in the Samoan IslandsTucked away in the Pacific Ocean, far from any mainland, are the Samoan Islands and the capital city of Apia. If you desire an isolated getaway and quiet holiday, this is the perfect destination. Unlike many other popular destinations, the Samoan Islands are far less trafficked, making them a much more private respite than the usual luxury destination. Samoa is great for a romantic getaway or just a simple, quiet vacation.
The vast selection or resorts throughout Samoa might make choosing accommodations seem overwhelming, but Le Legato Resort and Spa in Savaii is highly recommended.

Le Legato is Samoan for “sunsets” and is located on a secluded beach that boasts some of the most strikingly beautiful ones you’ll ever see. Enjoy the full experience with a villa on the beach, and during the day you can soak up the sun on your own private white sandy beach, or book a massage with the spa. An outdoor bar at the pool is also available so you can relax – cocktail in hand.

Across from Le Legato is Dive Savaii, a shop where you can rent snorkeling gear to partake in snorkeling along the reef. You’ll certainly see some of the most beautiful, breathtaking views above the seas, but you’ll be amazed what you’ll find beneath them. With the crystal-clear waters, clarity of view results in a ton of fantastic underwater sights.

Just a bit farther down North Coast Road, you’ll find more activities and sights to explore. Five minutes from Le Legato is an inlet of water where sea turtles gather and, with permission, you can even swim with these beautiful sea creatures. About five minutes further down North Coast Road, you’ll find the Saleaula lava ruins. An old London Missionary Society church’s ruins, a gravesite dating back to the early 1900s, and other structures can be found amongst the lava desolated earth.

The Samoan Islands are by no means bustling with activity but that is what makes them so appealing. In fact, the Samoan way of life, tafesilafa’i, dictates that things are unhurried. You’ll find true peace and tranquility on these beautiful islands no matter who you are.
